Hello.  I'm Leah Schut (pronounced "shoot").

 

I'm from Shelburne, VT and I'm in 9th grade at Governor's Academy. I'm a dedicated hockey player determined to play at the highest levels I can reach. While I'm definitely a hockey first athlete, with a personal goal to play in college, I'm also looking forward to playing other sports as well in high school, such as field hockey and tennis.

When it comes to hockey, I enjoy both competitive games as well as intensive training. I've been playing on competitive teams since I was four years old, and I love the dedication and discipline that it takes to excel at hockey.  As the sister with two athletic brothers, I've benefited from training with them and competing against them throughout my life. I also realize how fortunate I've been to have had the support of my parents.

I was born in October 2010, in Virginia and have been lucky to have lived in multiple foreign countries (Israel, England, and Switzerland) due to my father's government career. Since 2023 we have called Vermont home. Living abroad has been great for my development athletically, and also contributed to my maturity and open minded perspective.

My academics are also important to me, and I take pride in being a strong student. I realize that success has to be in the classroom, as well as in the rink and on the field.
